Moon Sweepers Patch Notes and What Changed
Independent Moon Sweepers guide by mooncleaning.net.
The latest developer patch returned by the checked Steam news feed was 1.0.5, posted 28 October 2026. Version 1.0.4 is dated 25 October and 1.0.3 is dated 24 October. The summaries below distinguish developer announcements from third-party articles in the same feed; they are paraphrases, not full patch quotations.
Evidence: official Steam news is the single primary source of patch details. Wikily reproduces the developer posts and explicitly cites Steam, so it is not independent confirmation. Latest means latest in the feed checked 2026-10-29, not a perpetual version claim.

1.0.5 — 28 October 2026
- Build anywhere: pieces can be placed on dusty ground. Dust underneath is pressed flat, so you do not have to clean first.
- Aim at a foundation's top, underside, or side to build on, under, or beside it, including out past an edge.
- Move mode: R picks up a piece and whatever stands on it, then you place it again for free. Right-click puts it back. X switches to remove. On a controller, Y from remove mode.
- Removing a piece refunds the whole price, not 75%.
- Middle-click copies rotation and style. Machines snap to the foundation, or sit on a 0.5 m grid. Mouse wheel turns in 90° steps (30° on hexagonal foundations). F places freely.
- J.O.O.N.A.S. spreads capsules across your catchers. The post also mentions fewer stutters in big bases and a freeze some players hit shortly after loading.
- Starting a public game, or switching a crew to public, now asks first.
1.0.4 — 25 October 2026
- Night vision goggles, a $350 suit upgrade. N cycles helmet lamp, goggles, off.
- Moon map: right-click sets waypoints, focus, or teleport. Robots show on the map. A teleport panel lists stations you have discovered.
- Capsule Catcher glass shows the dust, and capacity is listed as 100 kg.
- J.O.O.N.A.S. launches capsules to the nearest catcher without a dock trip, cleans one hex at a time from the outside in, and keeps working when no player is nearby.
- Saving large bases is described as much faster, with automatic save backups.
- Steam Deck / Linux: startup issues with older Proton versions were fixed. That is not a Deck rating.
1.0.3 and the developer letter — 24 October 2026
1.0.3 says heavily cleaned bases load again, damaged saves repair from a backup, and upgrades are shared across the crew. The host can kick or ban. Splitters and mergers built by crewmates work, and they snap port to port. The deposit intake pays what its screen shows. The developers' letter the same day says the team is two people, apologizes for crashes, performance, multiplayer bugs, and automation trouble at launch, and lists the shared-upgrade change as already shipped. The letter is not a patch by itself.
If you are buying today, the beginner guide already uses the full-refund rule. Co-op sharing is on the co-op page. Machine ratios that the wiki still marks 1.0.4 are on the automation page with that label.
1.0.5 also explicitly states a 90,000 total-capsule world ceiling and the catcher-group thresholds: within 100 m, switch when all catchers exceed 80%. These are official single-source claims. Exact controls and thresholds were not derived from a video.

Questions people type
What did Moon Sweepers 1.0.5 change?
The 28 October 2026 post says you can build on dusty ground, build on or beside foundations, move a piece with R, and get a full refund instead of 75% when you remove something. It also fixes a freeze some players hit after loading.
Are old guides wrong?
Guides that say upgrades are personal are wrong after 1.0.3. Guides that say removed buildings refund 75% are wrong after 1.0.5. Wikily still labels many tables as 1.0.4.
What was the player peak?
A SteamDB-supplied news item reports 69,935 concurrent players on 28 October 2026. Its appearance in the Steam API does not make Steam a second independent confirmation. It is not a sales total.
