How to Play Moon Sweepers: First Session, Tools and Money

Independent Moon Sweepers guide by mooncleaning.net.

Start with the free toothbrush, collect dust and sell it at a station, then buy a wider tool and container capacity before a large automation project. The steps and costs below come from public sources, not a timed playthrough. Wiki mechanics are single-source data; official patch changes are identified separately.

Evidence: exact starting capacity, widths, costs and control bindings are single-source Wikily, whose cost pages are labeled 1.0.4. The Steam description independently supports the broad collect/sell/upgrade loop. The embedded video is optional context, not proof that this editor watched or tested the steps.

A first session, in order

Order suggested by the 1.0.4 manual. Costs are that wiki's prices.
StepWhat the sources say
1Start at North Station with the free toothbrush (0.5 kg, 0.12 m).
2Clean nearby ground until the container is full.
3At the deposit intake, hold interact, then press sell. Dust is $1/kg before upgrades.
4Buy a wider brush. Nail brush $5, hand brush $10, household broom $25.
5Buy the building tool ($50) only once selling feels routine.
6Packager is $100 and conveyor is $0.50 per metre. Do not save for J.O.O.N.A.S. ($20,000) first.

What to buy first

Immediate money goes into a wider brush and the first container upgrade. Wikily lists Toothbrush I at $5, Nail I at $8, Hand I at $10, and Household I at $30, each doubling base capacity. When the walk back hurts, the same pages put a garage at $200 and a push sweeper at $300, so $500 before you are driving. Robot Vacuum Mk I is $250 and a Capsule Catcher is $1,500. The full grid is on the tools page, and income rates are on the money page.

Keyboard controls from the wiki

1.0.5 also snaps machines to foundations and warns you before a public game. Co-op sharing of upgrades started in 1.0.3, which is why a guide that says upgrades are personal is unsafe. Read co-op and patch notes before you follow an older video.

The Wiki says there is no in-game rebinding and lists Q as dropping a carried capsule. Official 1.0.5 text also refers to Q packing again after a bug fix. These descriptions are context-dependent; this guide does not present one universal Q action as independently verified. R in building mode moves a piece in 1.0.5; holding R to return to base is a separate context.

After the manual loop is established, the automation guide provides a static flow layout and five chamber-to-press ratios. No login, client install or personal testing is needed to read the full tables.

Questions people type

What do I do first in Moon Sweepers?

The Wikily field manual says you start with a free toothbrush, a 0.5 kg container, and a 0.12 m cleaning width at North Station. Fill it, sell at the deposit intake, then buy a wider brush.

How do you sell dust?

Hold the interact key at a station deposit intake, fill the tray, then press the sell button. Before upgrades, dust pays $1/kg. The same wiki says sand pays 3x and stone pays 7x.

Did patch 1.0.5 change the early game?

Yes for building. 1.0.5 lets you build on dusty ground, move pieces with R, and refund the full price when you remove something. Older guides that say 75% refund are stale.
